Dr. John Herrity, D.V.M., Practice Owner
Dr. Herrity grew up in the Springfield area and attended West Springfield High School. He began working for the doctors that owned Burke Animal Clinic when he was in the eighth grade. He loved working with animals, and soon discovered that he enjoyed the busy veterinary hospital atmosphere. It wasn’t long before he realized that his dream was to one day become a veterinarian.
In order to achieve his dream, Dr. Herrity attended Virginia Tech and graduated with honors from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinarian Medicine in 1986. Dr. Herrity enjoys the diversity of veterinary medicine and is continually expanding his skills. His particular interests lie in ultrasound, laparoscopy, internal medicine and surgery. He also enjoys working with the animals, as well as helping the owners understand their pets’ health issues.
Dr. Herrity and his wife Michelle have two sons and two daughters. Patrick and Bryan are both attending college, Kelsey has started elementary school, and the newest member of the family, Jessica, was adopted from Thailand in 2004. A Labradoodle named Bradley and a terrier mix named Rosie complete their family.

Dr. Alex Colvin, D.V.M.
Dr. Colvin was raised in northern Virginia and graduated from Lake Braddock High School. He worked at Burke animal Clinic while in high school until moving to Reston. He received his undergraduate degree in biology summa cum laude from Virginia Tech and D.V.M. from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Colvin began practicing in 2001 at Clocktower Animal Hospital. He rejoined Burke Animal Clinic in October 2009. Dr. Colvin and his wife, Dana, live in Ashburn with their daughter and son. |

Dr. Stewart Marsh, Jr., D.V.M.
Dr. Marsh, a native Virginian, graduated from Fairfax High School before joining the Coast Guard. He graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1971. He then devoted the next twenty-two years of his life to serving our country. After his retirement from the Coast Guard, Dr. Marsh made the decision to become a veterinarian and graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinarian Medicine in 1999.
Currently, Dr. Marsh and his wife live on a farm stocked with an impressive assortment of animals. They have three dogs, two terrier mixes and one Border collie, and six cats. They also have two miniature horses, two llamas, two alpacas, five peafowl, and one goat. In addition, they own seventy sheep that provide the natural fleeces for hand spinning hobbyists.

Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, D.V.M.
Dr. Elizabeth Johnson joined the Burke Animal Clinic team in May of 2005. She grew up in a military family and lived primarily in Colorado and Virginia. Dr. Johnson went to Woodbridge Senior High School. She received her undergraduate degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She received her Veterinary degree from the Virginia Maryland Regional Collage of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She currently resides in Fairfax with her husband and Afghan Hound, Chester. Dr. Johnson enjoys riding horses, spending time with family and friends, helping others, and enjoying life. Dr. Johnson is dedicated to helping people and pets live happier and healthier lives together. |

Dr. Lauren Feeney, D.V.M.
Dr. Feeney joined the team at Burke Animal Clinic in
June 2008.
She began working in an animal shelter starting as a
teenager, and
progressed to working in several animal hospitals after
finishing college.
Dr. Feeney graduated from Boston University with a degree
in Biology in
1999, and then worked as an anesthesia technician for
several years.
She graduated from the North Carolina State University
College of
Veterinary Medicine in 2005, and then did an internship
at Virginia
Tech. in 2006. Since then she has worked in both emergency
and
general practice, and lives with her husband Brett, dog
Luna, and 3
cats. |
