Patti, Head Veterinary Assistant
We were lucky enough to gain Patti as an employee in July of
2001 after she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology
from George Mason University. Her love of animals inspired her
to acquire a job in the veterinary field. Patti enjoys ultrasounds,
helping with surgery and laparoscopy, as well as caring for
patients. Patti has one child, Kyle, born in June 2004.
She also has 3 children of the four-legged variety:
Pokey, a Westie born in 1996, Tiger, an orange cat abandoned
at the clinic and born in 1999, and Jake, a black and silver
tabby cat she adopted from a shelter as a kitten in 2002.

Eva, Licensed Vet Tech
Eva graduated from Edison High School in 2003. She started work
at Burke Animal Clinic as a Veterinary Receptionist in September
2004. She enjoyed interacting with all our pet owners but really
wanted more hands on experience with the animals. After weeks
of training she became a Veterinary Assistant. She absolutely
loved that position so much so that she enrolled in the veterinary technician program. We are excited to have Eva as our newest L.V.T. She enjoys being able to watch puppies
and kittens grow into wonderful adult dogs and cats. She also
loves being able to help the sick and injured pets that are
brought to the clinic. It is very fulfilling to see them return
to the Clinic for their check ups and have a clean bill of health.
Eva loves this job because she finds herself learning something
new everyday. She enjoys discussing medicine with the doctors
who are very patient with her and explain whatever she doesn't
know. |

Lisa, Customer Service
Lisa joined the Burke Animal Clinic family in August of 1998.
The minute she walked into the clinic, she knew it would be
a friendly and fun place to work. She started as a veterinary
assistant in the back and moved to the front desk in June of
2000. She has been married since 1977 and has four children.
Her personal menagerie includes: Blue, a black lab who was adopted
at 2-1/2 years, Payton, a gray tabby who was brought home
with her college kid's laundry, Pebbles, a miniature schnauzer
adopted by same college kid to keep Blue company, Pokey, an Asian Box Turtle adopted, you guessed it,
by the SAME college kid. Lisa tells us she is no longer letting
the kid in the house.

for animals stems from childhood. Growing up in England she
competed at local horse shows and helped to show the Bernese
Mountain dogs that her family bred and raised. Philippa

area since then. She's a mother of three children, and has

Diane, Customer Service/Veterinary Assistant
Since childhood, Diane has been drawn to animals. So there
was no surprise when she switched from working in the business
field to take a position at the clinic in June, 2005. Her work
at the clinic fits well with her educational interests in science
and animals. While working at the clinic's front desk with
customers is rewarding, she also enjoys assisting doctors in
the treatment and care of patients. It's the details and the
diversity associated with her positions that she finds challenging
yet fascinating.
Originally from the Midwest, Diane resides in Northern Virginia
with her husband, Rich. Also at home reside cats Kryton, Woody,
and Emma; and dog, Liesl (all of which were adopted or rescued).
When not at the clinic, Diane likes to garden and spend time
at "the barn" caring for horses and taking riding
lessons. |
