Dr. Johnson joined the Burke Animal Clinic Team in 2005 upon graduation from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Johnson loves her job helping people and their furry family members live healthier, happier, longer lives together. She strives to be proactive in pet health care and makes individualized health care plans for patients who need them. She does her best to make all veterinary visits pleasant, positive experiences for her patients. She recently received her Fear Free certification. She specializes in using low-stress techniques to help patients enjoy their veterinary visits, or at least be more at ease during their appointments. In addition to traditional medicine, ultrasound, dental and surgical care, she supports alternative therapies, integrating them into her patients’ individual health care plans. Dr. Johnson has a fondness for both canine and feline behavioral consultations and works with several local rescue groups.
Dr. Johnson received Northern Virginia Magazine’s Best Veterinarian award for 2017 and 2018 and was interviewed by NBC regarding one of her rescue cases. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening (flowers, vegetables, and fruit), and creative art activities. She also loves working with horses. She currently resides in Fairfax with her husband, daughter, and rescued pup, Kenny.
